Someone decorated my lab space. Someone else got me a nice
red sweater and some glow in the dark paint out of skua. Someone else got me
some Cheese-Its.
I asked the galley for bread pudding instead of cake for my
birthday. It was delicious. We hung out and watched a movie later that night and I slept in on Sunday and I hung out in the green house and worked on the rug I'm making. It was a good couple days.
The sun is really getting low now, I think we are losing about half the diameter of the sun a day now. Only nine more degrees to go!
The winds shifted to be out of the “east” (grid east) and
when the wind comes from east Antarctic we get clearer skies and colder
weather, so Antarctica’s present to me was the temperature breaking -100 F with
wind chill for the first time this season.
The winds pushed the power plant exhaust in a strange direction which made an interesting fog/exhaust bank. The winds are supposed to shift back to grid
north later in the week and come from the Weddell Sea bring the clouds back,
the clouds also help keep it warmer for a little longer.
I though it was funny how the flag moved the snow out of it's waving area. Poor flag will probably be buried by the end of winter. I can't pull it out the snow is holding the bamboo too tightly.
