Measuring the Glacier

Every year I take the fancy UNAVCO GPS surveyor backpack for a walk along the edge of the glacier to measure how much it has receded since the previous year.
Not pictured here is the silty mud up to my knees, some areas of the backyard near the glacier are pretty soggy.
Here is a graphic I made combining satellite imagery from December with survey lines from roughly every five to ten years.
I also walked the profile of the glacier to see how much height the glacier has lost because that had not been measured in over a decade. Interesting stuff!
