Up on the highest point of the largest island in the boating area there is a long term project that is looking at the temperature profile below the surface. Basically is a very deep hole in the island and a wire with temperature sensors spaced out along it. I help recover this data once a season.
The battery on the system needs to be replaced every three years, so this year I got to take it apart and solder on a new battery.
