Up close with some lichens

I went out with the moss/peat group again to learn how to download weather data from the small weather station they installed near a moss bed. This weather station also has a probe in the moss to see the internal temperature of the moss as well as ambient temperature at the site.

There is only one type of grass here (Antarctic hair grass) but there are many very strange looking mosses and lichens.
