Sea Spider

The divers brought up this gigantic sea spider for us to look at. It is a good example of polar gigantism, because the water to so colder and can hold more oxygen and nutrients the creatures can get larger.  These spiders range in size from the width of your nail to two feet across. This one is the biggest one I've seen.
The divers also did a great informative talk on all the gear they use for the commercial diving work that they do here.
