We've had 5 or 6 harvests now, just greens (very very tasty greens) but things are starting to pick up and we should get cucumbers and tomatoes in a few weeks.

The zucchinis are taking over! It's pretty crazy to know that these are the only living plants within a 1000 miles in any direction basically, maybe even the majority on the whole continent (I'm not sure how many other stations on the continent have green houses, McMurdo doesn't have one anymore).
El invernadero se ve muy bien, felicitaciones por un trabajo tan bueno, espero siga así y produzca muchos vegetales para tu invierno. Ensalada de pepinos ajo y yougurt suena bueno. Que pasa con los marcadores del polo de años pasados? Se quedan en los Berms? Me gusta mas el del año pasado con la base de bambú pintado como barber pole, el de este año es bonito también pero párese que costó mas....Quidate hija. TQM papa
ReplyDeleteThe old pole markers are put on display in the station. The red and white pole with the reflective ball on top is always there, that one is the ceremonial pole, with the flags around it. The one that gets replaced every year is the actual geographic pole marker.
