I hiked along the ridge to hut point again, this time there was open water! The green I'm guessing is from algae growing in the snow melt, it was nice to see colors outside.
McMurdo looks a lot different without all the snow that was here last time, I hardly recognized it.
The black dots out there are Weddell seals. There was also I group of fifteen penguins but I couldn't get a decent picture of them. Real wild penguins!
I sat here and read a book for an hour or so enjoying the warm weather. Never thought -4 C/ 23 F could ever feel this warm, I only need a hoodie and jeans for walking around town.
I was reading and heard a seal breathe like it was right next to me and sat up and saw this!
The seals pretty much just sit around on the ice resting and being funny slugs from what I had seen so far, so seeing them swim around was pretty cool.
There is a seal under water the left of the seal above water here.
Scott's hut looks a lot different now without the snow. And OB hill has barely any snow left!
